Director's Message

Dear Student Friends,

National Education Foundation (NEF), since its inception in the year 1993, has actively engaged in promotion of higher education in the entire North East India. Keeping in view the professional importance both at national and international levels, NEF has been looking ahead for expansion, extension and dissemination of higher education with more and more courses of modern studies. In its efforts to encourage and inspire the young generation to opt courses of human and professional interest, the Foundation has maintained constant touch with the modern trends in the fields of educational exploration andthus,it has maintained its pace and progress unabated in realizing its aims and objectives. It now stands as one of the premier institutions of the North East Region of the country by virtue of its devotion and service to the society as a whole.

The Foundation has been running NEF College of Management & Technology and NEF Junior College since 1997 and we have now taken up the task of producing quality legal professionals at NEF Law College since 2006.

NEF Law College offers Five Year Law Courses - B.A., LL.B. (Honours) and B.B.A.,LL.B (Honours) under Gauhati University. The courses will meet the long standing demand of students of the entire NE Region, who want to opt for Legal profession ‘by choice’ and not ‘by chance’. Above all, introduction of such a course in a College at Guwahati would reduce migration of students from this region to other states thereby minimizing ‘brain drain’ and at the same time can be deemed as a small but significant contribution towards the State Economy as it would reduce the outflow of resources- both human and financial. Thus, NEF’s endeavor in this regard is hoped to be visualized as a pioneering step in popularizing and modernizing legal education in this part of the country. NEF Law College has an ambitious goal of becoming an excellent ‘Learning-centered institution’.

We will only achieve it if we work together and if we dedicate our collective resolve to confront and resolve disputes and disagreements. Your assistance is crucial and I am looking forward to work with you as we continue to strengthen and improve NEF Law College. Please feel free to send me any query or comments you would like me to consider. Let me assure you that, we at NEF Law College, will develop, and implement learning assessment, strengthen international opportunities, complete and implement core curriculum changes and continue development of technology with increased access. The Sky is the limit for NEF Law College. Those who wish to be the ‘Legal Eagles of the future’ are most welcome to NEF Law College. I am looking forward to the next part of our collective journey towards success.
