Legal Aid Clinic inaugurated on 26th November, 2009 by Hon'ble Mr. Justice J. Chelameswar, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi, and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Hrishikesh Roy were present as Guest of Honour.

Legal Aid Clinic


In conformity with the National Law Day on 26th November,2009, NEF Law College has set up a Legal Aid Clinic (LAC) which shall provide free legal services and representation in any court of law, tribunal or body before which a petitioner may be represented by a legal practitioner.

The services will be provided for persons who are very needy or for any other reason unable to obtain the services of private legal practitioners. The cell will be supported by professional, dynamic and dedicated services of working team of eminent practicing lawyers.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice J. Chelameswar, Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court inaugurated the Legal Aid Clinic and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Judge, Gauhati High Court & Executive Chairman, Assam State Legal Services Authority and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Judge, Gauhati High Court were prersent.

The College also organizes Legal aid and Literary Camps at various remote places to educate the poor and ignorant masses about their rights and enforcement of the same.

It will also provide exposure and practical legal training for law students. The LAC will educate senior law students on clinical legal education.
