Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)

This is a three-year Bachelor in Computer Application  of M.C.R.P. University aimed  at developing computerprofessionals versatile in use of computers in almost all fields of computer application.  The emphasis is to have for developing professionals as programmers, system analysts, data base administrators, documentation officersofficers etc. The main emphasis of the course is on applied computer use in various fields.

COURSE STRUCTURE :  A quick  glance at the subjects indicated confirms that the three  year  program  virtually includes a very wide rangeof computer applications and packages.  The emphasis on applied computers has, however,  resulted in a comparatively low profile at the  theoretical, mathematical  and analytical aspects of study.   The logic behind neglecting these courses which normally  retain their presence in a general computer degree  programme is the sector of targeted professionals for this BCA course. The course has one minor and one major project  work to be carried out by the  candidate  in  actual  consumer environment taking some  real  life problem.    The most important feature of this course is its actual time-on-computer practice, being upto 50% of the total time.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO BCA  : The candidate must be 12th Pass or equivalent in any stream. As the seats are limited, admission is offered on the basis of merit in the entrance test. As per present norms of MCA courses of most of the Universities theeligibility of admission is graduation with Maths at 10+2 level. Hence it remains that students taking admissionin BCA without Maths at 10+2 level may not be eligible for MCA. Such students shall have to clear examination i.e. "Bridge Course in Mathematics".

NO. OF SEATS : 120 students will be admitted per session.

RESERVATIONS: Reservations are given as per rules applicable in the State Government to the SC, ST and OBC candidates. But entrance test is a must for reserved seats as well. If sufficient number of candidates is not available in the reserved category, the seat will be offered to general category candidates.
